Position: Activities Coordinator – Temporary Contract
Ridgetown and Area Adult Activity Centre
We are looking for a positive, dynamic Activities Coordinator to develop, schedule, facilitate and coordinate fun, educational and engaging programs, wellness services and socialization events that appeal to adults in our community.
Reporting to the Board of Directors of the Ridgetown and Area Adult Activity Centre, you will create and handle the logistics associated with daily/weekly/ monthly activities by engaging the Centre’s members and attracting new ones. You will develop and build positive relationships with members, attracting new ones and working with community partners.
Location: 40 Erie Street South, Ridgetown, Ontario, N0P 2C0
Job Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
• Coordinate and oversee the logistics for all activities
• Manage the expansion of current programs and services and the implementation of new ones
• Promote programs and services to members and the community
• Create and implement content for the Centre’s website and social media
• Seek, develop and maintain connections with community partners
• Prepare monthly reports for the Board of Directors meetings and additional reports as requested
• Participate in the hiring, onboarding, training, supervising and evaluating new employees and student placements
Requirements and Qualifications
• Education in Social/Health Science or equivalent of education and experience
• Demonstrated experience developing and implementing recreational, social and educational activities
• Experience with digital media, content creation, web analytics and social media platforms
• Proficiency in computer applications including Microsoft Office 365 and member relationship software
• Excellent communication skills, including strong verbal and written proficiency in the English language
• Current certification in Standard First Aid/ Cardio-Pulmonary Resuscitation/AED
• Valid Ontario Class ‘G’ Driver’s License and access to an insured vehicle
• Criminal Record Check is required
Hours of work: Full time, 37.5 hours per week, with ability to work flexible hours including evenings and weekends.
This will be a temporary, contract position from October 7, 2024 to January 30, 2026, with the possibility of an extension.
Remuneration: $25.00 per hour
