Volunteers are highly valued at The Centre to keep programs and services running.

 

Luncheon Committee Chair

We love hosting our luncheons, and we need your help to keep them going!

The Luncheon Committee Chair will be a lead in:

  • Planing delicious and affordable of lunch menus
  • Booking the caterer and organizing for lunch delivery
  • Organizing a dedicated team of volunteers to help set up, serve and take down after the luncheon
  • Collaborating with the decorating committee and volunteers

We’ve got everything you need to set you up for success in this role, including an existing list of volunteers, a comprehensive checklist, and a binder with all the past luncheon details.

This is a volunteer position approximately 4-6 hours once a month for 8 to 10 months. This position requires a Ontario Food Safety (Food Handler) Certification or willingness to obtain one before beginning. The Centre will help you obtain one and will reimburse the volunteer for the test fee.

Front Desk / Reception

Front Desk – Reception

  • Daytime or evening opportunities
  • 4 hour shifts
  • Can be weekly on a predetermined schedule
  • Can be occasional, such as monthly or call in

Basic Skills needed:

  • handle a cash register
  • computer check in system
  • answer phones, transfer calls and answer question

Our Governance Committee oversees the policies and regulations of the Centre.

Communications Committee

The Communications Committee creates marketing for all of our events and activities.

Financial Management Committee

The Financial Management Committee is responsible for keeping our finances healthy and balanced.

Membership Committee

The Membership Committee encourages membership.

Program and Event Planning Committee

The Program and Event Planning Committee organizes our many events and programs.

CK 55+ Activities Organizing Team

The CK 55+ Activities organizing team plans and coordinates many fun events that older adults, 55+ participate in throughout Chatham-Kent.

Building Maintenance

The Building Maintenance team keeps our beautiful building and property maintained.

The Centre’s mandate is to facilitate partnerships with other community organizations to ensure local adults can easily access and benefit from a wider variety of activities and fellowship opportunities.
